multiparty democratic elections

CRPP Notification 13/2000

(To be read as a continuation of CRPP 12 issued on 25 April 2000)

1. We have been informed that the forcible, illegal and unwarranted arrest of U Aye Thar Aung, Secretary of the CRPP on 24 April 2000 was conducted without a warrant of arrest. His house was ransacked and documents were seized without a search warrant of any kind. The military anashins (dictators) have never specified the period of detention.

2. We declare that the use of force and illegal arrests and imprisonment of the people will never solve the current economic, social, health and educational problems.
