Thai leader set for Burma visit

New Zealand Government bans visa on Burma's officials

18 September (DVB) - New Zealand Government announces visa bans on the State Peace and Development Council (SPDC)'s officials and family members over their failure to release Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and political prisoners and human rights abuses.

The statement is signed by the New Zealand Prime Minister and it also states their concerns on Burma's current situation.

New Zealand Government also urges the SPDC to immediate release of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who has been under house arrest since mid 2003 and to start a dialogue including ethnic national leaders.[Source]
