Special Statement 1/01/07

It is learnt that a draft resolution regarding the political situation in Burma is presently discussed at the United Nations Security Council. It is also learnt that there are no punitive actions in the proposed draft resolution. Moreover, it focuses mainly on the establishment of national reconciliation through peaceful way of dialogue.

Hence, the National League for Democracy requests all the members of the United Nations Security Council support the proposed draft resolution.

As per the resolution made at the meeting of the Central Executive Committee held on 11-1-07.
