Burma, Indonesia Listed As Most Corrupt Countries in East Asia
21 Oct 2004 (VOA) - An anti-graft agency says Burma and Indonesia are the most corrupt countries in East Asia.
Transparency International says in its annual survey that Burma is the fourth most corrupt of the 146 countries it studied. Indonesia is ranked as the tenth worst nation.
The
Berlin-based group says countries that scored low levels of corruption are
predominantly rich ones. Singapore earned the
fifth best spot in the survey.
China was in the middle of the list, at 71st place.
