CRPP warns Burma junta on consequences of not choosing dialogue

11 Jan 2005 (DVB) - The Committee for Representing People’s Parliament (CRPP) warmed the Burmese military that the consequences of not solving the current political problem through dialogue will be their own resposible.

The CRPP held a meeting at the HQs of National League for Democracy (NLD) in Rangoon on 11 January. The meeting was attended by all CRPP members except Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, U Tin Oo and U Yan Kyin Maw who are under dentention.

The CRPP’s secretary U Aye Tha Aung told DVB that members mainly discussed the subject of consistent demand for dialogues with the country’s military junta, State Peace and Development Council (SPDC).

He warmed the SPDC that they should solve current political problems by means of dialogues or if the junta remains stubborn by resuming the “National Convention” unilaterally, the consequences will be solely the responsibility of the SPDC.
