Five Italian Tourists Killed in Burma Boat Sinking
01 Dec 2004(VOA) - Five Italian tourists visiting Burma have drowned after their boat capsized and sank in the country's northwest.
A spokesman for the Italian Embassy in Burma says the boat was on a river about 640 kilometers northwest of Rangoon when it was hit by a sudden storm and capsized.
Several other foreign tourists were rescued, while a local guide is missing and believed dead. [Information for this report is provided by AFP and Reuters.]
