Revolution of the Spirit: A Song Dedicated to Aung San Suu Kyi

5 Sept (VOA) - "Revolution of the Spirit" is a compilation of songs meant to educate, motivate and inspire people to love and to bring peace and justice to the world.   This collective work of musicians-activists will be released in the near future in honor of the world's most remarkable people – people who have dedicated their lives to attaining freedom, justice and democracy.

These honorees include the leader of Burma's democracy movement, Aung San Suu Kyi, Mohandas K. Gandhi of India's Satyagraha movement; Sojourner Truth of theU.S Abolitionist movement; Arch-Bishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa's Anti-Apartheid movement; Mexican American labor leader Cesar Chavez; the co-founder and First Vice President of the United Farm Workers of America and the AFL-CIO-UFW, Dolores Huerta; Russian author Leo Tolstoy; the 19th century philosopher, naturalist and literary artist Henry David Thoreau; and the first American Woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, Jane Addams.

The title of the CD and song "Revolution of the Spirit" is dedicated to the world's only imprisoned Nobel Peace Laureate, Aung San Suu Kyi of Burma. All songs are written and produced by Sharon Silver and Daniel Sembello.

"Revolution of the Spirit" can be downloaded for free at www.uscampaignforburma.org until October 24, 2005, the ten year anniversary of Aung San Suu Kyi's detention by the Burmese military junta.[Source]
